Behind The Scenes Of Bleachlight (A Tutorial) by Laikkuseia Behind The Scenes Of Bleachlight (A Tutorial) by Laikkuseia
Hello everyone.
Not drawing anything for BL was killing me, so I snuck in something behind my editor's back! :evillaugh:

I'm REALLY busy now I can't even sleep or eat. I draw around 20 pages in the weekend and have to start drafting and on top of that it has to be 'cool' and 'unique' or my editor won't like it.

:iconohokayplz:

This is totally free and you can download it and all. I'm just giving back to the community.

The BL contest will begin soon... I hope I have enough time since school is also beginning to be hectic... grah.

Thanks everyone and I hope you are still waiting patiently! BTW, is anyone else pissed that ACTA took down Bleach from various mangahosting sites already!?!??!

Those trolls.

Lai

Hey, Lai? Do you think you could help me out? I got a new speedball nib pen for X-mas, and new black indian ink, the problem is, I don't exactly know how to use it, because I've always used a different calligraphy pen. Do you have any sort of advice you can give me?

Sincerely and awkwardly, Tenshi-tan

Tenshi-tan~
Basically you just dip the speedball in an ink pot. But take care! Don't leave indian ink in open air too long, it'll fade. Just pour out on a different part, and seal very tightly the ink pot. Don't dip too long, don't stress the nib. Be light on all actions~

The rest, just wing eht.

Actually, I can't thank you enough for posting this!! I've always wanted to know the process of drawing mangas and this just helped me a lot! I've been drawing mostly random parts for mine with pencil and couldn't quite get that 'manga-ish' feel...but then this...it's a total life saver! So again thank you for sharing, sensei~!! :worship::worship::highfive::huggle:

Hey Lai! I have a questione, what kind of paper do you draw bleachlight on?

Just ordinary paper~
IMO, You should always aim to get the thickest paper, or the paper with higher substance ^^

Woah.

personally I only use pencils because my art is always subject to change and usually I feel than any panel I make needs change, only until I am totally and unconditionally happy with it do I go Over it with maybe a pen...

The fact that you feel that every stroke needs improvement is actually a remarkably good thing. Shows that you improve at significantly above average rates ^^

Wow, this documentary was very helpful! The materials you use are very useful. I'm no good with ink though ^^; Also, the reference thing was one of the tops. I didn't know about it and just trying this out proved to be a great help! Thanks a lot for uploading this one, you sound like a professional in Doujinshi-making, but that's totally okay. Shows you know what you're doing and how to do it, which vital for an artist :)
Keep up the excellent work, you're doing great!

I do have difficulty in finding the Bleach manga online, good thing Mangareader still has it. Those idiots.. :iconthatsgreatplz:

Haha. Thanks very much! I just try my best. And reference is one of the things artists should always have.

BTW. If you want some Bleach manga, there's still at Mangahere.com.

You're most welcome :worship: Mhm, totally agree with that one. Referene is important for a head start. Once you get the picture and develop your sketching/drawing skills well enough, though, you won't be in need of it anymore :)

I've checked this out, too. Thank God there are still a few links for us to read. :phew: That's a great relief.

I wish I had hers too. :icont-tplz: But I gotta say, I prefer cramped and messy. My desk is just too open... It bugs me.....

I don't usually go to manga reading websites, so I'm not 100% on this. But if I'm not mistake, manga reading websites are being shut down by ACTA. Not to mention anime sharing websites too.

I'm sorry to say this, but it is "hurting" people. If everyone reads manga online for free, then it will sell less. And not to mention that the mangaka don't like it. =T I mean, how would you feel if someone gave away stuff your making for free?

:icondragonnod1: I know what you mean, I would feel really pissed. But I read the chapters online and I still by the Manga when they become available in my country. Because there just isn't anything like having a physical copy to hold in your hand. If anything this will hurt their sales even worse because there are people who only stick with a series because they can keep up to date with the Japanese versions. If they're going to do this then they need to make the new chapters available in all languages at the same time the chapters come out in Japan. But they wont do that because it will cost them more money to do it. All I can say is that I'm going to laugh when in a few months all these Mangaka who make millions off of us are complaining because their fan base has dropped and they aren't making as much as they used to.

And if they're already shutting down these sites, it wont be long before they attack DeviantArt and other similar sites.

:ohnoes: I seconded that. Holding it in my hand... It just feels so right! >D Wait, in my country? Where do you live? :? I don't think it will hurt them actually, manga is becoming more popular every day, regardless if it's on websites or not. But I can understand why people want to read the latest chapter, and that is why stupid Shonen Jump is now digital! No more physical copies of my favorite thing on Earth! But wait! There's more! You actually PAY to read that! That's right, PAY. I don't know how much, but no matter how much ACTA try's there will ALWAYS be free manga on the internet. So Shonen Jump Alpha is a lost cause, even if it's two weeks after it comes out in Japan. I've even tried reading it. It's terrible. Sorry to get off topic.... Lol, I just hate Shonen Jump so much now.

I live in the United states, in sunny Florida! :boogie: Sorry I always say "my country" on here cause I never know where other people are from..so I find it easier to say that and then answer questions later :XD:

Yeah, I've tried signing up for Shounen Jump Alpha online but whenever I do it just freezes up on me :depressed: I actually thought it was a pretty good idea at first because you did have to pay so I was like "Yay! No more illegal stuff!" :giggle: but yeah I have heard a lot of bad things about the site :(

And I agree, they're just wasting time and money trying to shut down these sites. It's like the Prohibition when they banned alcohol...people were still finding ways to get it no matter what.

Lol, Florida for the win! :iconepichighfiveplz:

I was "already" a member since I was subscribed to SJ. I tried it and hated it. I hate the whole idea. ==" It's a basic rule for anyone who likes manga that you can read pretty much ANYTHING on the internet. Ugh, do you know how many pages Japan's WEEKLY SJ comes out with? Around 400-500. A WEEK. And the SJ here barely has 300 pages now. ;-; And Alpha has 120 page! :iconkiddpoutplz: What is the world coming to!?!?

:icondragonnodplz: Yep~
